Scuba Diving Magazine's Readers' Choice Awards have been revealed. The awards give readers the chance to vote for their favorite dive sites. Aggressor, a Bahamas-based dive center, was awarded 79 awards. This is 34 more than the runner-up. Readers can also vote online for their favorite dive sites and locations.
Bonaire was second in Advanced Diving.
Scuba Diving Magazine readers named Bonaire as a top Caribbean/Atlantic diving destination for fifth consecutive year. Bonaire won the Best Shore Diving Destination title. It also received honorable mentions for Best Underwater Photography, Best Visibility and Best Advanced Diving. The magazine's November 20,21 issue will feature the awards as voted by readers.
Bonaire's bike and hiking trails are available to visitors. A national park is available where you can see flamingos. The island also boasts its own water filtering systems, making tap water safe for consumption. The island was home for 114 turtle nests in 2016, which is the highest number of nests in one season.

It is easy to get to dive sites because the fringing coral runs parallel to the island's leeward shore. Visibility is possible up to 80 feet/100m because the reef is shallow and warm.
