The SSI Mermaid certification is available online. This allows you to do the certification from wherever you are and whenever you wish. There are two components to the certification. One is the practical part, and one is the online portion. You can either complete the online portion from a computer or laptop. Or you can use your smartphone or tablet to take the practical section. You can download the SSI App for Android and iOS devices.
JODY PRATT
JODY PRATT, a PADI Mermaid Instructor, is a certified SSI Instructor trainer. She started her diving career at a young age and has accumulated many Specialty Instructor Ratings. She loves the water and enjoys getting back to basics during her open water classes. JODY holds a Technical Rescue Instructor Training certification.
Michelle Forsbrey
Michelle Forsbrey is an avid surfer and swimmer. She loves the ocean. Her love of the ocean and beach inspired her to purchase a mermaid tail to use in her rehabilitation. She attracted the attention of both parents and children when she wore her mermaid tail at a local hotel swimming-pool.
Try Mermaid Experience
Whether you've always dreamed of being a mermaid or you're just curious about how the experience works, you've come to the right place. SSI offers a Try Mermaid adventure that allows you to swim underwater with mermaid Fins. This course is great for beginners. This course will teach you how safe to swim underwater, how to use mermaid fins and even how to hold your breath underwater. After completing your Try Mermaid course, you'll receive $15 towards your full certification.
Rusty
Rusty was raised in New Orleans but was born in Atchafalaya Basin. It is the largest US swamp and covers 22 parishes. The unique culture of Cajun has been a part of his life since he was a child. Rusty also enjoys diving and underwater photography. He also loves spending time with his family.
Niki
Niki Dawson has been a successful female entrepreneur. She loves to travel to different parts to dive. Her favorite dive spots include Micronesia, Australia, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Western Pacific. Niki enjoys exploring the globe, as well as diving.
Evi
Evi is a mermaid performer and instructor who teaches mermaid tail swim. Evi's first mermaid academy opened in March 2018. Since then, hundreds of guppies have learned to swim with her tail. Evi and Naomi competed at the World Mermaid Championship. Her goal? To help children enjoy the ocean while keeping them safe.
