PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC).
PADI Instructor Certification Course (IDC), was created to prepare instructors for taking the PADI Instructor Exam. The IDC prepares candidates for the PADI Instructor Examination. Candidates will be assessed in the classroom, in confined water, or during a rescue situation. Each section contains a number of tests and exercises. Practical experience is emphasized in the course. Candidates are expected to plan their own lessons and learn from other candidates. Additional diving theory will be covered in the course.
PADI Instructor Development Class consists 19 presentations. Each one covers a different topic. The PADI System includes Course Standards, PADI Instructor Manual and PADI Training Programs. Chris will focus on the PADI Instructor development, learning the PADI educational method, and making use of all the PADI teaching resources. PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), is a great way to learn how to teach scuba diving.

Course Orientation
The orientation phase of a PADI IDC is crucial for your success. But, it is equally important for a PADI Staff instructor to evaluate teaching presentations. This instructor is available to help you succeed if your learning difficulties or misunderstandings have been a problem. The IDC staff instructor evaluates all aspects and provides constructive feedback.
The PADI Instructor Development Course will teach you the basics of the PADI System of Education and Practice. Course topics will cover the Dive Industry Overview, General Standards and Procedures, Prescriptive Teaching, Legal Responsibility, Risk Management, 5 Dive Theories, and practical applications. Depending upon the IDC focus, the orientation section can take up to three full days.
Open Water Teaching Presentations
Open Water Teaching Presentations are required for the PADI Instructor Design Course (IDC). These presentations are essential to the overall success and viability of the IDC program. PADI IDC candidates need to be able master two skills in the same dive. These skills may be from different courses. To ensure they are able to master these skills, candidates must practice them before the IDC. They should also feel confident and have a solid understanding of all the skills they will acquire during their PADI Divemaster Course.
Nine (9) IDC Curriculum presentations are required for the PADI Instructor Development Course. These presentations will be given by the PADI Course Director or IDC Staff. They should include a Knowledge Development Teaching presentation, and two skills presentations from Rescue Diver Course.
