Scuba Diving in St Lucia

scuba divers gear

St Lucia has many options for scuba divers. The Anse Chastanet is where you'll find the most amazing dives. These dives can be enjoyed by anyone, even those who don’t feel confident scuba diving. These dives are between 10 and 25 feet long and include some of the most beautiful corals.

Anse Chastanet Reef

Anse Chastanet resort can be found on 600-acres of land. It has two beaches with volcanic black sand and pristine coral reefs. The resort offers excellent snorkeling, scuba diving, and other non-motorized watersports. The resort offers complimentary guided hikes and relaxation on the beaches. A chocolate laboratory and an organic farm are also located on the estate.

Ansechastanet has won many awards, including five Best in Readers' Selection awards. It is both a great place to learn and a great spot for experienced divers. The reef has wrecks and wall diving. There is also boat diving. Many divers love night diving on the Anse Chastanet coral reef.

Dani Koyomaru

Saint Lucia offers divers a range of diving options. You can visit the smaller, but equally impressive, Rosemond's Trench, or dive in deeper waters. This place is known for its vast schools of tropical fish, large man-sized sponges, intricate coral formations, and huge schools. Diving here is also a great way to see the famous Saint Lucia reef system.

A few miles farther out from the coast is the Daini Koyomaru wreck. This Japanese dredger fell in 1996. The ship is still partially submerged, and the wreck is propped up by the superstructure. Upturned decks are visible, as well as inscriptions in Japanese and other languages.

Dani Koyomaru dredger

The Daini Koyomaru dredged in 1996, a Japanese fishing vessel, is a fantastic wreck to dive. It's 74 meters long and about twenty-four meters tall. It is now a safe diving site for advanced divers, with its sides sunk. French angelfishes, garden eels (moray eels), and barracudas are just some of its marine inhabitants.

Another popular St Lucia dive location is the 165-foot Japanese dredger Lesleen M. The reef is home for a variety of interesting creatures such as scorpionfish, flying garnards, and rays, despite its limited depths.

Soufriere Marine Management Area

You can dive in St Lucia's Soufriere Marine Management Area to see the beautiful coral reefs. The marine management area was created in order to protect the waters and maintain a healthy ecosystem. It was born out of conflict among resource users and environmental degradation. The SMMA was primarily created because of conflicts between local fishermen and scuba divers.

Since 2004, Soufriere pitons has been a UNESCO World Heritage location. It is managed by the Nature Reserve and boasts some of the most beautiful diving in St Lucia. The site is home to numerous coral species and has an abundance of tropical fish. The area is known for its passage of predators and cetaceans. Divers can also observe the beautiful marine biodiversity.
