Insurance for scuba diving accidents
DAN dive scuba diving accident coverage protects members from financial damages resulting in an underwater accident. Membership is $35 for an individual or $55 for a family. The DAN can also use it to do research on safety diving and provide emergency medical aid. Although membership is not required, purchasing accident insurance before diving is a smart idea.
DAN insurance provides divers with a range of coverage options. You can choose from a variety of coverage plans depending on your needs. If you live more than 50 miles from your home, some plans will also pay for medical evacuation.
Project Dive Exploration
In the early 2000s, the DAN joined forces with DAN USA to create the PDE database. This database includes information on recreational air, nitrox and mixed gas as well as decompression diving. The PDE computer data base currently includes 137.451 profiles. This data is collected through field work and laboratory studies.
PDE is an acronym for Project Dive Exploration. DAN Divers can make a donation by sharing their profile information. To be eligible for the drawing, all you have to do is dive for five minimum dives between May 28th & September 3rd 2007. A commemorative T-shirt will be given to divers who have completed 10 or more dives.
