For those interested in pursuing advanced technical diving certifications, there are several options available. TDI offers Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox, and Decompression Procedures courses. PADI offers Tec Trimix as well as Deep Diver courses. Advanced Nitrox diving techniques are taught in the TDI Advanced Nitrox Course for recreational Nitrox divers. The course covers equipment use, gas switching, advanced emergency techniques and lift bag deployment. Visit the TDI website for more information.

TDI Intro To Tech Course

The TDI Intro to Tech course is a standalone training course that helps you expand on your recreational training and gain a deeper knowledge of advanced technical skills. It can also serve as a great introduction to TDI's advanced courses, such as Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures. It can also be used as a refresher course for those who have taken technical courses. During the course, TDI technical instructors will be able to assess your skills.

The TDI Intro to Tech course was designed for divers who are not familiar with twin cylinders. It also covers advanced buoyancy control and gas management. Students will also learn situational awareness and trim skills. The course can be taught at the beach or in cenotes with similar conditions as swimming pools. Advanced gas planning techniques are also taught. This course is designed to improve your open water diving skills and introduce you to the technical equipment configurations. You will also learn how to use advanced gas planning techniques. The course is strictly non-decompression. However, you are allowed to use enriched nitrox during the course.

Course on TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures

TDI Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures courses prepare divers for accelerated and staged decompression. Students will learn advanced gas planning skills and management techniques to ensure their dives are as safe and enjoyable as possible. Students learn to manage their equipment, and how to plan for emergencies. Four dives at a maximum depth limit of 40 meters (130 feet) are included in the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Techniques course.

This course can be taken as a standalone course or as part of an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certification. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures classes are performance-based and last for four days. Students complete six dives and two dives below 30 meters. Students complete the course according their own experience and needs. This course prepares students and allows them to dive into wrecks in Scapa Flow, the UK, and other technical areas.

PADI Tec Trimix course

The final step in the PADI Technical Diver open-circuit path is the PADI Tec Trimix90 course. This certification course opens doors to deeper dives and allows divers to discover new places. This course is not suitable for tec divers with extensive experience who want to expand their range and explore deeper underwater environments. A valid dive license is required. You also need to pass a medical check in order to be certified as trimix diving. You will need two 30cf stage bottles, a face mask and a pair of fins for this certification.

The Tec Trimix 65 diver must log at least 350 dives and at least 50 decompression dives using less than 21 percent oxygen for the PADI Tec Trimix course. The course also focuses on technical diving techniques and protocols. This course includes many teaching scenarios. It is the most advanced course in technical diving certification. The requirements are much more stringent than the PADI Tec Diver certification.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course

PADI Deep Diver certification is for recreational divers. This certification includes four dives. It also covers safety stops and descents. You will also practice the use of technical diving equipment, such as a side-mounted cylinder and EANx. Learn how to plan deep diving and manage your gas supplies. You can choose to take your lessons online, or offline. The PADI Tec eLearning course allows you to work at your own pace.

This program can be completed in just two years unlike the PADI courses. First, you will need to obtain a Tec 50 dive certification from an approved organization. The qualification must cover technical deep diving as well as decompression dives up to 50 meters and pure oxygen diving. Additionally, the PADI Course Director conducting the Tec Deep Instructor course may also offer Tec 50 diver level training. Upon successful completion of the Tec Deep Instructor Course, the PADI course director will issue you a Tec Deep Diver certificate.
