
Many ice skating opportunities are available at the UIUC Ice Arena. The synchronized skate team of the UIUC is nationally ranked. They have had performers compete at the international and national level. Tickets to UIUC’s Spring Show start at $5 for general seating or $7 for reserved seating.
University of Illinois Ice Arena
Champaign's University of Illinois Ice Arena, also called the Big Pond is an ice rink. It is owned and operated by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It hosts ice hockey and other events.

Opportunities for skating
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's ice arena is open to the general public. There are several steps to follow if you want to host a group event at this rink. First, you need to make a reservation. This can be done at the Illini Union RSO Office (Room 284). If you wish to reserve ice time, please make sure that you have a list for all participants. You will also need to arrange for a supervisor at the rink to answer your questions during the rental period.
Center Ice Cafe
The Center Ice Cafe at the University of Illinois Ice Arena is open to the public. Located adjacent to the Customer Service Office, the cafe offers food and beverages. The Ice Arena Pro Shop stocks a variety of skating and hockey accessories.
Free skate trainers
The University of Illinois Ice Arena (UIUC) is a rink located in Champaign, Illinois. It is managed by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The public is welcome to use the ice arena throughout the year. The public is welcome to use the rink for their figure skating and skateboarding skills.
Spring Show
The UIUC Ice Arena Spring Show will be held soon. This show will feature local skaters, as well as a nationally-ranked team of synchronized skaters. Gas leak in UI Ice Arena
Following a leak at its ice rink, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has sent out an Illini-Alert. The building was evacuated at 406 E. Armory Ave. after Ameren Illinois crews discovered a leak. Firefighters blocked a sideway to the arena to prevent further contamination. The leak appears to have originated below the building.
