The Tec 40 Diver program is designed for those who want to learn how to dive in emergency situations. The course comprises three training dives as well as a confined diving experience. There are also knowledge development sessions and practical application. After you have completed at least 30 dives including 10 enriched oxygen nitrox dives, you can earn this certification. Upon completion of this course, you'll be eligible to take Padi Tec 40 courses at colleges and universities worldwide.
Tec 40 course
The PADI Tec 40 program expands on recreational diving skills to include advanced techniques. In this course, students will be introduced to two decompression gases - air and trimix 65 - and learn more advanced tec deep diver skills. Students at Tec 40 can also learn to use back gas and master buoyancy controls. Additionally, they will be able to learn advanced nitrox theory.
The Tec40 course emphasizes team dive techniques, self-reliance in and communication in the sea. Decompression theory is also taught to students, which makes it easier to plan dives. In addition, the course provides a detailed session on diving equipment configuration and best practices for recreational divers.

The PADI Tec 40 course takes about three days to complete. To complete the course, students must have completed at least 30 logged dives, including at least 10 in enriched air. After completing the course, students can switch gas to use enriched oxygen to dive to 40 metres.
Requirements for taking the Tec 40 course
PADI Tec40 is a great course to learn technical diving. It bridges between recreational diving and technical deep diving. It will teach you the fundamental skills needed for tec diving training. You will be able to decompress to 40m without stopping. You will also be able use a complete technical rig.
The Tec40 course teaches advanced diving techniques, and emphasizes team-diving and a self reliant attitude in water. Tec40 introduces students into advanced nitrox theories, including partial pressures and oxygen exposure across multiple dives.
Credit for Tec 40 courses from college
PADI Tec40 requires a minimum of 30 logged diving dives. This includes 10 enriched oxygen nitrox dives. It teaches the diver how to plan a dive and use enriched air and oxygen to decompress. The course also teaches how to make extended decompression stops and plan. It's the next step in the diver's training. The course can be completed for college credit.

The Tec 40 course is for advanced divers who want to expand their knowledge of technical diving. The course includes planning, using two deco gases (nitrox and 100% oxygen in stages), and navigating the multi-gas computer. The course is suitable for divers who have completed their PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification and have dived at least 30 times.
